QRPhotoPay Privacy Policy

Welcome to QRPhotoPay, a mobile application designed to create and share UPI-based QR codes with customizable images and designs. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your information, the features of the app, and our responsibilities regarding its use. By using QRPhotoPay, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

1. About QRPhotoPay

QRPhotoPay allows users to:

• Create UPI QR Codes: Generate QR codes linked to a UPI ID for payment transactions compliant with NPCI guidelines.
• Customize QR Codes: Personalize QR codes with background images from the device gallery or camera, and apply gradient designs or QR styles (square or circle).
• Scan QR Codes: Scan existing UPI QR codes using the camera or import from gallery images to extract UPI IDs.
• Save and Share: Save generated QR codes to the device gallery or share via third-party apps (e.g., WhatsApp, email).
• Adjust QR Size: Modify the size of the QR code using a slider.
• Theme Switching: Toggle between light and dark themes.
• Undo Actions: Undo actions like removing images, UPI IDs, or QR designs.
• Torch and Zoom for Scanning: Use the flashlight and adjust zoom levels (1.0x to 4.0x) while scanning QR codes for better visibility.
• Settings and FAQ: Access a settings page to view FAQs, toggle themes, contact support, view app version, or access Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy links.

Note: The app requires internet connectivity for sharing, downloading QR codes, and accessing external links (e.g., Terms and Conditions). All other features work offline.

The app enhances the visual appeal of UPI QR codes and simplifies payment sharing. It does not process payments but generates QR codes compatible with UPI-enabled apps.

2. Information We Collect

• UPI ID: Entered manually or imported via QR code scanning (from camera or gallery images). The app validates UPI ID format (e.g., user@bank) to ensure compliance with UPI protocols. This data is not stored or transmitted.
• Images: Photos selected from your gallery or captured via camera for QR code backgrounds or QR code scanning. These are processed locally and not uploaded.
• Device Permissions:
  • Camera: For scanning QR codes and capturing images.
  • Storage/Photos: To access gallery images, save QR codes, and import QR codes from gallery images.
• App Usage Data: Settings (e.g., theme, QR designs, QR size) are stored locally. No personal data is collected about app usage.

Important: QRPhotoPay does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers. All data processing occurs locally on your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information provided is used solely to:

• Generate and validate UPI QR codes based on the provided UPI ID.
• Apply images and designs to customize QR codes.
• Save QR codes to your gallery or share via third-party apps.
• Enable QR code scanning (via camera or gallery images) to import UPI IDs.
• Support flashlight and zoom functionality during QR code scanning.
• Provide access to FAQs and settings for user convenience.

We do not use your data for marketing, analytics, or sharing with third parties.

4. Permissions

QRPhotoPay requires:

• Camera: To scan QR codes, capture images, and use flashlight/zoom for scanning.
• Storage/Photos: To access images, save QR codes, and import QR codes from gallery images.

Permissions are requested only when needed. Denying them may limit functionality (e.g., inability to scan QR codes or save images).

5. Data Storage and Security

All data (UPI IDs, images) is processed and stored locally on your device. QRPhotoPay does not use cloud storage or external servers. We implement reasonable measures to ensure secure data handling within the app, but you are responsible for your device’s security.

Caution: When sharing QR codes containing your UPI ID, share only with trusted individuals, as they can initiate payment requests.

6. Sharing and Third-Party Services

When you share QR codes via third-party apps (e.g., WhatsApp, email):

• The QR code image is sent through the selected app, which has its own privacy policies.
• We do not control third-party apps’ data handling. Review their policies before sharing.

7. Disclaimer of Liability

QRPhotoPay is provided “as is” for creating and sharing UPI-based QR codes. The developer is not responsible for:

• Misuse of the App: Unauthorized or fraudulent use, including generating QR codes with unauthorized UPI IDs or images for illegal purposes.
• Financial Losses: Losses or damages from sharing QR codes or using them in transactions.
• Third-Party Actions: Actions by third parties who scan or receive your QR codes.
• Device Security: Data breaches due to compromised device security.

Users are solely responsible for the lawful use of the app and the accuracy and legality of QR codes generated.

8. User Responsibilities

By using QRPhotoPay, you agree to:

• Use the app for lawful purposes and comply with NPCI guidelines for UPI transactions.
• Ensure the accuracy and legality of UPI IDs and images used.
• Avoid sharing QR codes with untrusted individuals.
• Review third-party apps’ privacy policies before sharing QR codes.
• Maintain your device’s security to prevent unauthorized access.

Note: Currently, QRPhotoPay does not display any ads. However, future versions of the app may include ads. The Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
